Sophia Laforteza is stepping back from KATSEYE’s upcoming shows in Europe and the United Kingdom to put her health first.
HYBE and Geffen Records announced that the Filipino singer would sit out The Wildworld Tour dates from September 1 to 17.
“Sophia is focusing on her well-being, and the company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed,” the labels said.
They also asked KATSEYE fans, known as EYEKONS, to support Sophia as she takes time to recover.
“Our highest priority will always be the health and long-term well-being of our artists,” the statement added.
Sophia later told fans that she was disappointed to miss the tour but understood that her health and mental well-being must come first.
“I can’t express enough how much I want to participate in this tour and perform for you all,” she said. “I have to remind myself every day that our health and mental well-being should always be prioritized.”
She also revealed that she has been undergoing treatment while trying to stay healthy and positive.
“When I show up for you, I want you to get the best version of me,” Sophia said. “I’ve been in ongoing treatment and doing everything I can to stay healthy, occupied, and happy.”
She added, “You can’t pour from an empty cup. It’s important to care for yourself.”
KATSEYE will continue its Europe and UK tour dates without Sophia as EYEKONS await updates on her return.
