Touch Mobile was the leading cell phone service provider in the country, with 30% of mobile phone owners using it, followed by Talk N’Text with 26%.
This is according to a non-commissioned survey conducted by the Social Weather Station from March 26-29, 2023 on SIM card registration with 1,600 respondents.
According to the SWS, Globe users accounted for 25%, Smart users 23%, and DITO 1%.
TM was the number one provider in Mindanao at 48% while TNT was the leading provider in the Visayas. In Metro Manila, the leading providers were Globe at 34% and Smart at 32%. Some 24% of the respondents use TNT and 14% use TM.
In Luzon outside of Metro Manila, TM was the most popular at 31% followed by Globe at 30%. TNT subscribers accounted for 24% while TM subscribers accounted for 14%.
The SWS said 56% of adult Filipinos had registered their SIM card a month before the original April 25, 2023 deadline for registration, with 72% saying they found the process easy and only 28% saying it was hard.
