Nordic Game 2024: A milestone for Philippine game developers with $9.2 million sales

Philippine game development studios secured $9.2 million in sales at Nordic Game 2024 in Malmo, Sweden, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced.

The DTI facilitated the participation of five studios—Arclight Labs Inc., GameOps Inc., Neun Farben, Top Peg Animation & Creative Studio Inc., and Startrace Studios OPC—through the ARISE Plus Philippine Project, supported by the International Trade Center and the DTI’s Export Marketing Bureau.

Nordic Game, Europe’s leading game developer conference, attracts game developers, publishers, and investors from around the world.

Arclight Labs is a venture studio focused on helping creators maximize their potential with content and technology.

GameOps, based in Pasig, specializes in video game support services. Neun Farben Corp., a subsidiary of Xplus Japan, creates Japanese-stylized 3D art, video game trailers, animations, and visual effects. Top Peg Animation & Creative Studio Inc., founded in 1998, offers animation and graphic design services globally. Startrace Studios OPC, led by veteran game developers, showcased its Balete City Game at the conference.

DTI Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo noted the interest from foreign companies and the progress of Philippine game developers in the European market.

“We are proud of the achievements and the strong growth that our Philippine game development industry has shown over time,” he said.

The ARISE Plus Philippines Project, funded by the European Union, aims to enhance the competitiveness of Philippine exports and promote inclusive economic growth.
