Mober Technology expands EV fleet with new charging yard in Laguna

Singapore-based Mober Technology Pte. Inc. is set to establish a new charging yard in Laguna, addressing the escalating demands of its expanding electric vehicle (EV) fleet.

Dennis Ng, founder and CEO of Mober, said this “new facility is a significant leap towards a sustainable logistics ecosystem.”

Mober established its first charging facility at an 800-square meter property in Pasay City in September 2023.

“What a journey,” Ng mused as he reflected on the company’s expansion from just two electric vehicles at the beginning of 2023 to 60 units by the end of the year.

Bolstered by a $2-million funding injection received last year, Mober is bent on propelling the Philippines towards a greener logistics future.

With aspirations to further expand its EV fleet to 300 vehicles this year, Mober is finalizing a funding deal ranging from $3-5 million.

Ng said a six-wheeler electric vehicle truck costs P2.7 million, while a smaller Asian utility type electric vehicle is priced at P1.9 million.

Mober’s flagship electric vehicle charging hub in Pasay City predominantly caters to IKEA, strategically positioned just 1.5 kilometers from the retailer.

Ng outlined the company’s plan to establish charging stations every 150 to 200 kilometers, reaching as far as Tacloban in the south and Ilocos in the north.

Counting SM Appliance Center, Nestle Philippines, Nespresso, and Unilever among its clientele, Mober strategically aligns with companies sharing environmental sustainability goals.
