Senator Loren Legarda commended the approval of the ‘One Town, One Product’ (OTOP) Philippines Act, recognizing the pivotal role played by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as indispensable drivers of economic advancement in the Philippines.
Legarda underscored that this move reinforces the national government’s commitment to fostering the growth of the sector and extends additional aid to facilitate its prosperity.
“The enactment of the OTOP Philippines Act is a groundbreaking development, not only in its support for our MSMEs but also in opening avenues for the government to further fortify its assistance to all Filipinos, using this as a strategic tool to promote more inclusive economic growth. This serves as a prime example of the ‘whole-of-government’ and ‘whole-of-nation’ approach in action,” she said.
