Investor meetings on Marcos’ agenda in trips to Germany, Czech Republic

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will also be courting investors when he flies to Europe next week for a working visit to Germany and a state visit to the Czech Republic.

Department of Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Maria Elena Agabre said Marcos will invite German and Czech businessmen to invest in the Philippines in the business forums he is set to attend in the two European countries.

“During the President’s time in Germany and the Czech Republic, the President will focus on bolstering trade and investment opportunities in the Philippines, inviting German and Czech companies to increase their presence in the country,” Algabre said.

Also on the agenda of the President’s trip is the signing of agreements that would benefit Filipinos seeking work in Germany and Czech Republic, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, health and information technology.

One of the deals expected to be signed in Germany is the cooperation program between the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) and the German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).
