The Philippine Food and Grocery Trends 2022 released by GrabFood showed that the delivery trend started to grow amid the pandemic.
From the second quarter of 2021 to 2022, food deliveries and groceries increased by 24 percent.
Data from GrabFood showed that deliveries grew 1.7 times from 2019 while on GrabMart, there was a 1.4 times increase from 2020-2022.
Compared to 2019, Pinoys are also ordering more with an average basket growth of 84 percent.
Among those surveyed, respondents said the top reasons for choosing food deliveries was because of convenience.
With current projections, it seems food deliveries will continue to thrive beyond the pandemic.
