In response to the mounting calls for the release of the 2021 performance-based bonus (PBB) for teachers, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has ensured the release of the said bonuses within the year.
DBM Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman assured the public that the agency is actively working to address the concerns surrounding the release of the PBBs.
In a statement, Pangandaman directed the agency to expedite the process and ensure prompt payment of benefits once all necessary requirements are met.
“We will closely coordinate with the Department of Education (DepEd) to address this, and once we are provided with the complete requirements, we will ensure that the PBBs will be released as soon as possible,” she said.
The DBM National Capital Region (NCR) released a special allotment release order and a notice of cash allocation amounting to P950.9 million to the DepEd on June 27.
This allocation is intended for the payment of the 2021 PBB for eligible school-based personnel of the DepEd NCR Office.
