Success Options Inc. founder and president Francis Kong is telling followers to stop obsessing over looking impressive and start focusing on being ready when the timing finally turns in their favor.
In a recent post, motivational speaker said winning is “not always about being the smartest person in the room,” arguing that success often comes down to being in the right place when opportunity arrives.
“A genius in the wrong place can look ineffective. An ordinary person in the right place can look exceptional,” Kong wrote.
Instead of trying to impress others, Kong urged people to use difficult seasons to prepare, improve, and stay sharp.
“This is not the time for hopelessness, pessimism, or idleness,” he said.
Kong said setbacks and slow periods do not last forever, and those who keep working on themselves will be in a stronger position once conditions improve.
“Use this season well. Position yourself. Prepare yourself. Strengthen yourself,” he wrote.
When the upturn comes, those who stayed ready will be in the best position to grab the opportunities that come with it, he added..
