FedEx pumps up Philippine presence with Clark aviation complex expansion

US logistics company Federal Express Corp. (FedEx) announced a major expansion at the Clark Aviation Complex in Pampanga, aiming to more than double its current footprint.

This move signifies FedEx’s commitment to facilitating Philippine trade and enhancing the country’s supply chain capabilities.

The expansion will involve the construction of additional facilities, including aprons and taxiways, to improve cargo handling efficiency.

Maribeth Espinosa, managing director of FedEx Philippines, expressed confidence that the project will significantly contribute to the growth of the nation’s logistics sector.

This announcement comes two years after FedEx inaugurated its Clark gateway facility, boasting a sorting capacity of 9,000 parcels per hour.

The company further bolstered its regional presence by launching a direct Vietnam-Philippines flight service in October 2021, catering to the increasing trade volume between the two markets.
