Celebrity Dingdong Dantes and his company have joined forces with RiderKo to disrupt the established delivery services landscape in the country.
Dantes, through his registered trademark Dingdong, operates Doorbell Technologies Inc., a last-mile delivery fulfillment company. RiderKo, on the other hand, is a locally developed mobile app that offers on-demand food delivery and door-to-door delivery services, exclusively created by Filipinos.
The partnership between Dingdong and RiderKo, sealed on May 30, 2023, aims to elevate the quality of service and bring professionalism to the rider delivery industry. As part of this collaboration, comprehensive training programs will be implemented to educate riders on road safety, proper package handling, customer interaction, and the provision of uniforms and safety gear.
Dantes highlighted the existing inadequacies in the Philippine delivery services sector, emphasizing the need for tailored delivery solutions that meet the specific requirements of businesses. The lack of suitable options often leads to inefficiencies and delays in the delivery process.
Dingdong aims to address these challenges by providing businesses with personalized delivery services.
In 2019, Dantes and his four friends—Sid Maderazo, Ranvel Rufino, Mark Gorriceta, and Joey Gurango—established Doorbell Technologies with an initial paid-up capital of over P1 million. Dantes’ decision to incorporate his name into the venture reflects the brand’s distinctiveness.
Although the venture faced initial hurdles, the COVID-19 pandemic presented an opportunity for Dingdong to make its official delivery debut on September 4, 2020. Since then, Dingdong Delivery has evolved into a business-to-business (B2B) last-mile solution, offering safe, secure, and professional services to businesses of all sizes.
Dantes emphasized the areas that require improvement within the industry, including speed, security, and safety.
