DepEd personnel to receive P11.6 billion in performance bonuses from DBM

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released P11.6 billion as performance-based bonuses (PBB) for fiscal year 2021.

This bonus will be awarded to 920,073 personnel working in public elementary and secondary schools under the Department of Education (DepEd).

DBM records showed that as of September 1 this year, all 16 regional offices (ROs) had successfully issued special allotment release orders (SAROs) and notice of cash allocations (NCAs) to the DepEd, ensuring the timely delivery of the 2021 PBB to the school-based personnel.

Meanwhile, documentary requirements for the 2021 PBB of non-teaching personnel within the schools division offices of eight ROs were subject to review.

The DBM returned these documents to the DepEd for revalidation/revision due to various concerns, including duplicate entries, inaccuracies regarding the months of service, and discrepancies in personnel records.

Upon revalidation and approval by the DBM, these documents will be forwarded to DBM ROs for the processing of SAROs and NCAs.

The DBM Central Office is in the process of scrutinizing submitted documents for the 2021 PBB of non-teaching personnel in eight other DepEd ROs.
