Check out DTI’s school supplies price guide for the upcoming academic year

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has released a price guide for school supplies, aiming to assist consumers as the new school year approaches.

The guide includes specific brands of notebooks (composition, spiral, and writing), pad paper (Grades one to four and intermediate), pencils, ballpoint pens, crayons, erasers, sharpeners, and rulers.

“As the school year 2023-2024 starts on August 29, the Department reaffirms its support for the Department of Education’s Balik Eskwela program by issuing the price guide for school supplies,” said the DTI.

Notebook prices range from P23.00 to P52.00, while Grades one to four pad paper prices vary from P21.00 to P28.00. Intermediate pad paper prices currently range from P31.00 to P48.75. Writing materials like pencils and ballpoint pens are priced from P11.00 to P17.00 and P9.75 to P19.00, respectively.

Depending on the brand, consumers may purchase a box of crayons with eight colors for as low as P12.00 to as high as P34.00. A 12-color pack costs P32.00, while the price of a 16-color pack varies from P24.00 to P69.00.

Erasers, in small, medium, and large sizes, have a price range from P4.50 to P20.00. Meanwhile, sharpeners and rulers are priced at P18.00 to P69.00 and P22.00 to P27.75, respectively.
