BIR extends use of old receipts, allows email submissions for smoother tax filing

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has allowed taxpayers to use the remaining official receipts until fully depleted, extending the previous year-end limit.

BIR commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. has also authorized the submission of inventory reports and notices via email, as required under the transitory provisions of Revenue Regulation No. 7-2024.

These measures are part of the BIR’s efforts to streamline the transition to the Ease of Paying Taxes Act (EOPT) and ease the burden on taxpayers.

The BIR is doubling efforts to harmonize the different regulations, systems, and processes under its mandate with the EOPT.
